Our Story | Sapori Direct
Sapori Direct was born from a deep appreciation for authentic Sicilian cuisine and a realisation that these extraordinary flavours rarely reach British tables. My decade living and working in Italy allowed me to explore Sicily extensively, developing a particular fondness for the Eastern and South-Eastern regions with their distinctive culinary traditions and remarkable produce.
Sicily’s remarkable landscape — volcanic soil from Mount Etna, Mediterranean climate, and centuries of culinary heritage — creates produce with flavours you simply cannot find elsewhere. Yet traditional distribution channels mean these small-batch treasures rarely make their way to British shores, and when “Sicilian” products do appear, they often lack authenticity.
Brexit has created significant challenges for importing specialist food products, particularly for small producers. Sapori Direct navigates these complexities, working directly with artisan makers to bring their finest creations to British tables.
